Who am I?
Hi, my name is Dr. Feil, I am a 10th year teacher here at Antioch High School. I am part of the EDGE Academy and will be teaching Biology and Innovations to Green Technology (Green Tech). I look forward to getting to know all my students this year. Below is a brief overview of what my different classes are all about.
Biology:
• Biology CP is a graduation requirement for all Antioch High School students. Students will learn about a variety of topics from Scientific processes, Chemistry in Biology, Cell Structure, Human Body Systems, Cellular Respiration, Photosynthesis, Cell Cycle, Mitosis, Meiosis, DNA Structure and Function, Heredity and Traits, DNA Replication, Protein Synthesis, Mutations within DNA, Evolution, and Ecology.
• Students will use group work, laboratories, readings, and projects to reach the learning goals of the course.
Green Tech:
• Innovations in Green Technology A D-Lab Science course that will fulfill one of the graduation requirements for Antioch High School students and is designed to meet the California Career Technical Education Standards for the Energy, Environment, and Utilities sector. Students will learn about a variety of topics that introduces them to career opportunities in sustainable STEM fields through a series of projects including wind turbine design, making biodiesel, creating solar cars, and energy auditing.
• Students will use group work, laboratories, readings, and projects to reach the learning goals of the course.
