Welcome to my page. My name is David Backman, and I am thrilled to be working at my Alma Mater. This is my 26th year of teaching. I currently teach Special Education U.S. History, World History, and Introduction to Film. The best part of my job is working with the students.
I grew up in Antioch and graduated from AHS in 1991. After graduating, I attended Sacramento State University and graduated in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. My first teaching experience was as a substitute in the Antioch Unified School District. In 1997, I was hired as a full-time teacher at Prospects High School. In 2000, I moved over to AHS. I have also taught at Live Oak High School in the district. It's great to be a Panther!
