Hello!!
This is my 28th year of teaching and I have the pleasure of working with an amazing group of 2nd graders. My first year of teaching was in the Cotati-Rohnert Park School District, where I also taught 2nd grade. I found my way to Antioch in 1999 and taught at Jack London Elementary for 13 years before joining the Leopard family in 2012.
I grew up on a dairy farm in Petaluma. Growing up in the country was a great experience that influences me today. I have a love for nature/science and sports. I played 3 sports (basketball, volleyball, softball) in high school and went on to play basketball in college. I use what I learned from team sports to manage my classroom, to encourage students to always put forth their best effort, and to follow their dreams.
After high school, I went to Chico State and earned a degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. After graduating, I worked in a preschool, with 2-year-olds, in Pt. Reyes Station for one year. I loved the time I spent with the toddlers, but I realized I wanted to work with older children. I received my Teaching Credential from Sonoma State, taught for five years and went back and earned a Master's Degree in Education from Hayward.
I currently live in Brentwood with my husband, Kenny, who is a 6th grade teacher in our district. We have 2 daughters, Keely (20) and Brenna (17). I am excited about the learning and fun that will take place during this school year!!
