How can you help create a feeling of safety for your child? 

  • Maintain structure, routine, and rituals

  • Minimize/monitor their access to media and the news

  • Remind them of all of the people that love them and help keep them safe

  • Encourage exercise, play, and proper nutrition

  • Set limits on device time

  • And extra hugs, of course!

What Do You Want Your Child to Remember?

Memories that children form are tied to strong emotions. I think we can all agree that emotions are strong these days. So take a moment to think about what you want your child to remember about this time. Yes, there are challenges; yes, there are struggles. Yet this is also an opportunity to connect. Take care of yourself the best you can, hug your kids, and take a moment to make a special memory - one you will be glad your child looks back on.
