Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year and welcome to 8th grade science. I have been a teacher at Park for twenty-two years and I find myself in the position in which I have to learn to do my job in new and unfamiliar ways. I know that students are in the same position and that this can be very stressful. I am here to help students and parents in any way I can to make online learning manageable and productive. Please do not hesitate to communicate with me if and when you have any problems or concerns. We are in this together! This year's curriculum is mainly centered around physical science, but we have also partnered with the Marine Mammal Center in Marin and will provide learning experiences around ocean conservation and the marine mammals that inhabit it. At the end of the year, our eighth graders will complete a Farewell Project which is coordinated by the science department. There will be more information to come soon on that project. Again, I look forward to meeting all of you. I look forward to teaching a whole new group of young people and forming those relationships that I value so much as a teacher.
