Ms. Laituri is thrilled to be the Principal at Mission Elementary and is excited for the new school year! After graduating from Deer Valley High School, she continued her education at Los Medanos College. Ms. Laituri was a student- athlete participating in volleyball and softball, and a musician in the symphonic band. In her second year with Los Medanos, she was selected as team captain for both volleyball and softball and was awarded the honor of LMC’s Women’s Athlete of the Year. Transferring from LMC, she continued her education at San Diego State University where Ms. Laituri received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and Multiple Subject Credential. Ms. Laituri went back to school while teaching full time and was a student at Santa Clara University where she received a master's in educational leadership and administrative Credential. She began her educational career with the Oakley Union School District and has spent the last nine years with the Cupertino Union School District. She has taught Special Education Resource, first grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade.
Ms. Laituri is excited to be back in the community she grew up in to help and support the students at Mission Elementary. She believes in teaching students to have a growth mindset, to set goals for themselves, and to turn their struggles into personal accomplishments. With guidance from family members and the Mission Elementary staff, each child has endless possibilities for their future.
