Parking Lot/ Pickup Drop off Procedure
We have a large number of students arriving and departing each day. With the number of cars coming into our lots before and after school, we highly recommend that parents carpool. For safety reasons, we do not want children walking or running through the parking lot on their own to find a car. Instead, we want all students that are being picked up, to wait for their ride by the overhang near the school exits, while adults pull-up along the curb. When exiting the drive through area on Greystone or Rockford drive, all vehicles must turn right. DO NOT PARK IN THE DRIVE-THROUGH LANE OR IN STAFF PARKING. If you need to park and leave your vehicle, park your vehicle on the street. For safety reasons, the parking lot on Rockford is closed during the school day, for kindergarten or TK pickup, you must parking on the street and walk to the gates. The Rockford parking lot will open after 1st grade dismissal, AND after the majority of walking families have exited the loop. Vehicles may not be left unattended in any of the drive through areas at any time. Parked cars in pickup/drop off loops are against fire code and maybe subject to towing. Antioch Unified School District is not responsible for parking lot disturbances or damage. Please contact the Antioch Police Department if the need arises.
John Muir 1st Day of School Procedures
Arrival
All students will enter the campus through the main entrance on Greystone Drive, except for TK, Kindergarten and 1st Grade.TK/ Kindergarten
For the first day of school for TK and Kinder students will begin with an online Virtual Orientation
Afterwards Parents/ Guardians will be asked to bring their student to school to meet their teacher and participate in a school and classroom tour at an assigned time. Families, please look for a letter sent out by our TK/ Kindergarten teachers regarding the first day of school procedures.
Parents must park their car on the street and walk the student up to the drop off gates
TK and Kinder will be dropped off at the double gate by the kindergarten playground, EXCEPT for Ms. Crooks class. Ms. Crooks class will be dropped off at the small gate at the far end of the loop
1st Grade
On the first day of schools only, all first-grade students will enter the campus near the Kindergarten parking lot, through the Kindergarten playground. Our 1st grade teachers will be there to greet the students. When school begins, teachers will walk students to their classroom. Please note: This procedure is only for the first day of school. After the first day of school, 1st grade students will enter the campus through the main entrance on Greystone Drive.
2nd - 5th Grade
All 2nd - 5th Grade students will enter the campus through the main gate on Greystone Drive. Muir teachers and staff will be out to greet and escort students to their class. Students will line up outside their classroom door prior to being welcomed into the classroom by their teacher.
Please note, the blue gate leading to the campus off Rockford Drive is a staff entrance only, and will be locked. If you have a TK/Kindergarten student AND an older student you have two options.
Option 1: Drop the students off early at the main gate off Greystone for breakfast
Option 2: Drop both students off at the kindergarten gate entrance once it opens, and the older student will walk to their line up spot on campus (the students will not get breakfast with this option)Dismissal
Grades 1st - 5th will be able to use both gates when leaving the campus, the main gate on Greystone Drive and the gate near the Kinder Parking Lot. Families, please arrange pickup location with your students. Please remember that Wednesday is early dismissal.After the 1st Day of School Procedures
Arrival

All Kindergarten and TK early bird students will enter through the kindergarten playground off Rockford Drive, except for Ms. Crooks class. Ms. Crooks class will be enter campus through the push gate at the end of the Rockford Drive loop. All TK late bird students will enter the campus through the staff entrance, blue gate, off Rockford Drive (They are the only exception to the blue gate policy below)Muir teachers and staff will be out daily to greet and escort students to their class. Students will line up in the courtyard in grade level lines.
