My teaching endeavors began by teaching adult ESL in community college and language schools in the Bay Area, parochial middle school in the Bay Area, as well as teaching public elementary and middle school abroad in my mother's country of Japan, where I lived for a long time before coming back to the U.S. to resume teaching.

At home, I can be found playing my Classical and Flamenco guitars, writing Haiku, and keeping my cat, Buddha, company as he strolls across the porticoes of my imagination...

Hello students, parents/guardians/grandparents!

Welcome aboard. I'm Douglas, Educational Specialist (SPED Teacher), room #414. I teach Math and Core Enrichment classes, via UDL, AVID, have Homeroom, and I also support students through push-ins, and have built a "community" with my students' parents, guardians, grandparents.

I truly enjoy being at Dallas Ranch Middle School, seeing, talking, learning, teaching, and building relationships with students. I always want to "walk in their shoes" and take them across the bridge of lights to a life of fulfillment and success and, in it all, have them become contributors, stewards, advocates of their families, communities, and the world abound!

Oh, how I long to see,

among dawn flowers,

the face of God
